What Makes a Home?

I've lived in many places when I was younger but wherever I've lived and for however long, it's always been important to me to make it feel like home. To me, home is where I feel comfortable.
So what makes a home for me?

Come and have a peep around my home. :)

Being a visual person it's a place where I can look around and see things that I love to look at, a place that has beautiful colour all around.

Oh, how fun to see glimpse of your home, Jessie ! Your home is colorful and homey, just like your art. So cool. It made me think about my own home and how it reflects me. There are areas that do and then there are areas where compromise with my hubby's more masculine, less colorful side have been made. I have begun to spread out though... :)

Lovely posting Jessie. You are so right about your home being just that. I love how individual it is. Have to say an open fire, and a blanket with the kids cuddled up and the cat on a lap are what speak of home to me. Then looking up I can see shelves of books and the pictures on the wall.

Such a very beautiful home, it feels very welcoming, cosy and, well, homely. You have clearly put a lot of effort into making it such a lovely place to live, you should be very proud of the home you have created Jessie. I love the picture too. Love the colorful mix in your home and - the bee kids paining is awesome! I must have colors and art around me too, although my walls are white. But it's all about the personal pieces - chairs, fabrics, paintings - that make a home for me! Have a lovely day!

I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately.  Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink.
