Summer Exhibition in Bristol

Image
Well hello there! The time is nigh for the exhibition I'm taking part in next week. I've made some cards this time to sell alongside the main paintings. I've used recycled card and envelopes which was a mean feat to find in white let me tell you! If they're successful, I could make some more to sell in my Etsy shop after the exhibition. What do you think? They're going to be £2.50 each which is more than I'd like to charge but the gallery takes 30% so you can see why I have to charge a teeny bit extra. :) Many galleries take 50% so this isn't unexpected! Meanwhile, if you'd like to buy really affordable postcards of my work, please click here. :) Those of you who know Moo will appreciate the good quality prints they produce! My paintings are just about ready to deliver, the inventory is typed and printed, cards are with their envelopes and in their cello sleeves, so away we go! The exhibition's going to be at the Grant Bradley

Berry Head

Image
Hot days, hot nights,  the only change is an evening walk in a high up place with a sea breeze, golden light,  Berry Head in South Devon.  I love how the low sun lights up the wild flowers and grasses and creates pretty silhouettes along the wall. Oh to be on that boat with a cool breeze! ~ ~ ~ ~

Giveaway Winner and some New Characters to Name. :)

The names are all in,  the daughter picks a name out from the bowl and it's  :) Kyra! Well done Kyra! Please send me you details by email and your chosen paintings shall wing their way to you across the ocean!  ~~~~~~~~ Here's a painting I did today in the sweltering tropical heat.  What's your favourite flavour ice-cream? Mine's rum and raisin. :) Could you help me give names to these 4 ladies? It's a bit of a challenge thinking up four names together but I know how good you are at it! Thankyou.xx

Faces and New Postcards

Image
Meet Adana  :)  Adana's the latest face to be chosen a name on my Faces and Names project. Sorry I didn't get round to posting her here for you lovely Bloggy People to help me choose too. I've been so busy the last few days listing my new postcards that are now available in the shop . It takes a while to get them ready for Etsy as I'm sure lots of you with your own Etsy shops know! I have lots of different designs, some you might remember from recent paintings that I've shown you. Here's a preview of a just few of them...   As you can see from the photos, the print quality is top notch!  These are just a taster, I have lots more designs to choose from and if you click  here  you can see them all. :) The reverse side is a regular postcard so you could send them in the mail or frame them as artwork for your wall, or combine the two by sending one through the mail as a gift to a friend. They're only $2.50 each (that's £1.

Blooming Forth

Image
I want to show you my new rose bush. Well it's kind of new, I bought it a few months ago when it was nothing but a short stick with no hint of growth. It promised on the label beautiful orange blooms which was extremely difficult to believe when I looked at the dry stump that I'd brought home from the garden centre! I've always loved roses but have been too scared (and lazy!) to try to grow them because I was under the illusion they needed lots of fuss and bother to keep them alive let alone to produce beautifully scented flowers.  Can you believe it?! The strawberries are coming along too. I only have 2 of these plants so  there's no chance of me overdosing on them and let me tell you, I so would.  I love strawberries. ~~~~~~ So on to my painting news. I made a sketch a while ago that looked like this... unfinished and almost forgotten. When I came across it again I liked the composition and wondered if I could make it into a painting.

A Giveaway Thankyou Gift for you.

Who is she?

Image
Here's my latest face that needs a name. She's a quiet person who holds things dear to her heart. ~~~~~~ Thankyou for your name suggestions for Olivia! I chose that name from one of the suggestions on Facebook. I'm so impressed with the different names you come up with and I'm enjoying finding a name that fits the person the best. Olivia is a lovely name and has been a favourite of mine for a while. Maybe it's her green dress and olive shaped head? Or maybe it reminds me of Olive Oil from Popeye?!  I don't know but she's very happy now she knows her name. :)
