In Time For Bank Holiday Weekend

Image
I do believe this painting is at last finished. I'm going to call it 'Safe Harbour'. I was working on two paintings at the same time and finished the other one today too! Here it is... I don't have a title for it yet so any suggestions?? Both these paintings are a combination of coloured tissue paper, collage and acrylic paint with lots of layering. I used runny acrylic for the darker part of the background. I like the way the wet paint makes these spots when it's dry! I used stencils and patterned paper and went a bit over the top with the fluorescent pink and had to tone it down a bit. I was developing a tendency to become addicted to it! It's bank holiday in the UK so I'm very pleased to have these finished in time. :) I'm going to close my Etsy shop until Tuesday, so until then, I wish you all a lovely weekend.xx

A Private View and a Sea-Side Trip

Image
Friday evening was the private view of the group exhibition that I'm taking part in.   It's called ' Cornucopia ' and will be at The Grant Bradley Gallery in Bristol until March 2nd.  If you're around this part of the UK, hope to see you there! :) After all the excitement of the opening night, I was lucky enough to spend the weekend in my favourite place, with the best view. From every window was a joy to behold. Wellies on and a few steps away and I'm right there on my favourite beach. Some of you might recognise it already? Surprisingly, there weren't many seagulls around. Where have they all gone?  While London was getting coated in snow, the sun shone on beautiful, lovely St Ives. ~  ~  bliss  ~  ~  ~ ~ Back down to earth today, the easel beckons and there's lots to do. See you again soon! :)

Illustration Friday: Lonely

Image
This week's word for Illustration Friday is 'lonely'.  Of course you don't need to be alone to feel lonely. What do you think, Mr Seagull?
