Pathway To Radiance

Image
It's been mighty chilly lately hasn't it? I've been spending the evenings knitting my cowl and wrapping myself in crocheted blankets! While you're sat here by the fire with me, I want to share with you a lovely e-book by a lady called Sarah O'Leary . She has a blog called ' Holistic Hot Sauce ' and has just finished writing her  e-book,   Pathway To Radiance,  Self-care Strategies from 50 Empowered Women . This is the intro.. I’m Sarah. It’s taken me more than 50  years ...but I’m slowly learning how to  truly love and cherish myself. Learning  the true meaning of self-care. I invite  you to join me on the journey. This book  is my gift to you, offered with love and in  the spirit of service. The e-book contains illustrations by me :) and includes other artists' beautiful paintings too.  It's free to subscribers and if you visit her web-site you can get yours delivered to your inbox. Perfect for curling up by the fire to read. A

Out with the mess, starting afresh.

I've cleared up by art table. I'd forgotten how much this helps me start a new project with renewed enthusiasm! I do make a mess when I paint, it gets all over my hands and it has even been known to travel to my feet more times than I'd like to tell you. When I was at college I'd take a pack of baby wipes with me in my art supplies so that I could clean my art materials off myself before venturing outside. My face would invariable have smudges and streaks of a bright vivid colour, or black. So what project do I have in mind? Christmas cards! I was originally going to make them to sell but I've left it too late this year. I was also going to sell my 'moo' ones that I had printed  but again I've missed the boat with that too. Never mind, I'm going to give them to friends and family. :) They were a lot of fun to make, why did I leave it so long! Now I have a nice clean table, I've got my little sketchbook out. It's so mu

Introspection

Me in Cornwall, back in the day. Some things change, some stay the same. I've always loved shades of purple and since my first visit there, I've always loved Cornwall. I always make a mess and I always get paint all over my hands and the floor just opening a bottle of ink. I always poke myself in the eye when I put mascara on. Random thoughts on this icy cold day.

I'm Knitting Again

Image
I don't know if you remember but some months ago I started knitting with some lovely green yarn to make a short sleeved cardigan from this pattern. It's been a while since I did any more to it but now it's finished at last! I made it to go with my summer skirts that each have a touch of the same grassy green in them. The weather's a bit too cold for cotton skirts now but I think this might go very nicely with warmer clothes too. After the joyless joining of pieces, (yes I love the knitting part but hate the sewing-together torture.) I really needed to make something that didn't involve fiddley ends so my next project is knitted all in one piece. It's a cowl scarf from this pattern and it's done on a round needle, something I've never used before, in fact I didn't even know they existed until I read that's what I needed to make it! No pieces to join together at the end - oh bliss! :) Can I also say thankyou to Yvonne from Coramantic
