A Day in Oxford

Image
I've always like visiting Oxford. So many inspiring sights to see! Come along with me as I show you what caught my eye. :) I do like a nice doorway and this one has exceptional decoration don't you think? Such beautifully kept gardens in the colleges. I like that lamp! Now step inside the Ashmoleon with me as I show you some treats... This is a close-up of the right hand side of the painting, 'The Triumph of Chastity'. If you like, you can see the whole painting here and below is a close-up of the left hand side of the painting. Opposite the college is a little victorian shop filled with Alice-in-Wonderland souvenirs. I couldn't resist buying a couple of cards! Alice's Shop was the actual shop where Alice used to buy her barley sugar sweets and was the inspiration for the old sheep shop in Through The Looking Glass. Sir John Tenniel, sketched the shop for the accompanying illustrations, reversing the details as if a mirror image. I'm now charged up with all kin...
