Blooming Forth
I want to show you my new rose bush. Well it's kind of new, I bought it a few months ago when it was nothing but a short stick with no hint of growth. It promised on the label beautiful orange blooms which was extremely difficult to believe when I looked at the dry stump that I'd brought home from the garden centre! I've always loved roses but have been too scared (and lazy!) to try to grow them because I was under the illusion they needed lots of fuss and bother to keep them alive let alone to produce beautifully scented flowers.
Can you believe it?!
The strawberries are coming along too. I only have 2 of these plants so there's no chance of me overdosing on them and let me tell you, I so would.
I love strawberries.

When I came across it again I liked the composition and wondered if I could make it into a painting. Instead of starting from scratch, I had a canvas that I wasn't happy with and decided to paint the image of the mother and baby onto it.
Her name is Violet.
****DON'T FORGET****
I'm giving away three little paintings as a thankyou gift to you. Click here to take you to the post. with the comments. :)

The rose is splendid!!! It smells, I suppose! Have you heard that Bulgaria is famous for its roses (for a special sort of them)? We produce 70% -75% of all rose oil in the world in a small region of the country.
Hmmm, it's very exciting to feel like a godmother!:D Violet... In Bulgarian its Violeta [vio'leta]..
I adore your Mother and Baby painting, exquisite!!! Enjoy your roses and your painting! Hugs from Robin.

Loving the new mother and child piece. So sweet!
Happy creating, Jess!
Our strawberries were eaten years ago, but I found a thriving patch of wild strawberries out here. I wish those were edible! (and bigger than a blueberry)
Your paintings are beautiful as always, I'm on love with those colors... :)
XOXO
Love your sketch and painting, so sweet and elegant. Gives me such a feeling of tranquility. <3
