Yesterday

Each day has good and bad, easy and difficult but yesterday it weighed more on the difficult side. I played  in my art journal and that always makes me feel a bit better.
This page had a lot of wrting underneath the things you see here. I write out things that are worrying me and read them back to myself later in the day to get some kind of perspective. Once I've done that, I half obliterate the words with doodles and collage until I feel the page doesn't need me any more.
Today is a new day. The worrying things of yesterday and today will dim in time when other things step to the forefront because life is forever changing.

Write them, cross them out, let them go just don't let them weigh you down.

Sending you a big hug, Jess!
I know exactly what you mean about worries playing on the mind. :-(
Your journal is lovely and a great way to release all that tension. It is also good therapy for the heart and soul.

I have just bought a new sketchbook and I intend to just sketch in pencil everyday as a way of relaxing. You have inspired me!

Have a peaceful weekend and a magical birthday this month.
Jo. ♥

I am sorry you aren't feeling well.
Sometimes worry can affect you physically...
I love your page though.

This is great idea for getting out all that "stuff" that is a bother, and then clearing it away with images and color. I love this!

I started a journal for the first time last month. I plan to continue because it was such a joy to do. This page is beautiful as is all of your work.

I often to the same, hide "crappy" thoughts under the collage bits or paint. Sometimes, just the act of working in the journal removes all the negative junk from my head. Aren't yyou grateful for such a beautiful tool for feeling better ? I am too !

I hope today is better, more on the easy, peaceful side, and that the weekend is too.

Thankyou Ginny, that makes me very happy to hear that. :o)

Hi Kim, yes I am! It's people I've met online (like you) that have made my life so much more and I'm very grateful for that too. :)

I really like your idea of obliterating words. Go online and find a new piece of music, always works for me.And...I bet you are making lots of stuff for christmas.
Jess said…
Thanks Victoria, that's so sweet of you. :)

Thanks Rosie, that's a good idea but I get sidetracked when I do this and find I've been longer than I thought! I'm not actually making anything for christmas YET but I have lots of plans whirling around in my muddled head of what I'd like to make!

I am sad to hear live if not treating you as well ass it should right now. I try to be philosophical about it; saying we need the bad to show the good, but it is not true. I find art is a good way to salve our souls.
Jess said…
Thanks Bella, I seek good within the bad, time will show me this and as you say, art is there to help us. :o)
