Carenza turned 12 on sunday so it's been a weekend of back to back birthday celebrations. I'm very tired today so can only manage this little doodle. And no, I had nothing to drink if that's what you're thinking!
You may have had nothing to drink, but I bet you thought about it! :) I can't imagine but you would not be exhausted with a weekend of 12 year old birthday celebrations happening...what? With family and friends it had to be overwhelming! Okay, so I know it would be for me!
I love this drawing...she looks like the wise mother who only wants the best for her children, even if it does her in sometimes.
It sounds to me like you are a woman with her priorities in perfect order...now go and put your feet up for the rest of the day!
Carenza - what an absolutely beautiful name Jessie! I hope you all had a lovely Birthday weekend. Your doodle is wonderful, as always full of that lovely quality of design that only you have! You must definately get in to textile design Jessie!
I really like your doodle! You definitly have a unique style and I always look forward to checking your blog! Well done for producing anything after such a busy weekend!!!
I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately. Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink. I love the pearlescent inks, they're so beautiful when they catch the light. The paintings above and below are painted in acrylic. I've been obsessed with watercolour for a few weeks but I felt I'd like to get some acrylics out again. I've always been like this, going through phases of being obsessed with a particular medium thinking yes this is it! This is my final medium and then finding myself being drawn to changing once again to a different way of wor
I thought this was quite an appropriate word for some of us this week with all this snow! It was very exciting at first to have everyone home on a school day but today they're back and I must say it's nice to have the space again to get on with my own things! I've given my Etsy shop a new lease of life and will be adding these 2 ACEO's later on this morning. I do like drawing birds!
Brixham Harbour It's been a while since my last post hasn't it? It's been a very busy Easter holiday for me, lots of things to sort out and jobs to do. Today's my first day at home but there's so much catching up to do after being away I don't know where to start! So I decided to start right here and to make this blogpost :) I did manage to have some relaxing time too and one of the places we went to was Avebury Manor. I've been to Avebury stone circles more times than I can count but have never visited the 500 year old Manor House. Each room has been restored to a different time period to represent the different generations of people who lived there over the years. I love the handpainted wallpaper in one of the rooms, so detailed. It was difficult to choose which part to photograph there was so much amazing pattern. It's based on an early English chinoiserie wallpaper from around 1700. The artist Mark Sands working on t
