I had an exciting parcel arrive today...by coincidence almost in time for my birthday tomorrow! I've been lucky enough to win some delicious purple pens on Andrea's pen give-away. I've been stuck inside too long recently, so a walk in the Forest of Dean was the order of the day. It was only an hours drive away. Soft light everywhere, and dry, except of course the very muddy ground! There were some beautiful paintings and cards for sale in the shop by an artist called Ron Boyd . I bought this card above for the lovely shapes and colours.

When I'm on the phone and there's a pen nearby, I tend to doodle. I never plan what appears, it just evolves and it's not until later I see that it has anything to do with what I was talking about. At the time of posting, I still don't know!

We went to the Christmas pantomime last night and Buttons was singing the 'well-known' song that Rolf Harris used to sing. 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down'. My 11 year old daughter thought he was singing 'Dye my kangaroo brown' and realise the difference when they put the words up next to the stage! CLICK HERE if you'd like the misfortune of hearing the original. Of course my own kangaroo pictured here is purple and not brown because purple looks better don't it? This is my submission for Illustration Friday, which this week is 'Voices'.

Here's my submission for this week's Illustration Friday . The idea was, a giant turkey acting a bit wayward!

I thought I'd better have a profile pic so did these little paintings in my sketchbook. Doesn't really look like the real me but that's the beauty of drawing isn't it? To create something that doesn't really exist in the real world! (I'd quite like her necklace on the left though.)

Hello world, here is my first post. I've created this blog to show my drawings or anything else that takes my fancy. I'm finishing off an illustration project at the moment but will post new stuff as soon as I can!
