Sketchbook Play and a Giveaway For You.

I've been having more sketchbook fun playing with my new Distress Crayons.
The pages above I've only used the crayons by themselves without any gesso on the page beforehand. The picture of the face has a little bit of water to make them blend together. The left hand page shows a light colouring of 3 colours.

Here you can see I've blended the colours of the background with some water and when it was dry I've drawn on top using Posca pens.

Again, on this picture I've added a few details with Posca pens on top of the Distress Crayons.

Now the new year is here and I'm back in the studio, I'd like to give away one of my prints as a thankyou for following me. All that you need to do is to tell me which print you'd like in the comments either here or on my Facebook page. It's that easy! I'll put all your names in a hat at the end of next week and announce the winner. You can see all my prints if you click here.
I hope you've had a good start to your year!
See you soon
Jess xx

Love the crayons, although they never blend enough for me so I like looking at the crayons themselves more than using them! :)
Oh Jessie, what a lovely thing to do.

At first I thought picking a favourite would be easy as I proceeded to your etsy shop but oh my. Your use of colour is phenomenal and I love your themes and juicy mixed media. And yet I chose Fox Love as my favourite, a quieter piece, the foxglove reminding me of the old home I once had in the forest, the girl and fox so gentle and dear.

Good luck to all and big thanks for the joy you create!xx

these are lovely Jess.
I wonder if you can also draw your picture and then take gesso to it to move the colors around. i have done that with water soluable pencils and it is a wonderful effect.

I wish I had room for one of your prints in my tiny house, but it is overflowing. Someone else gets to be the lucky winner.

Hi Jessie! I've been a lurker on your blog for a while. My mom introduced me to your art a few months back! I love how you explain how you made your different pieces--you also introduced me to posca pens! I love posca pens now lol !

Thank you for doing this giveaway! I'd love to participate :) All your prints are beautiful, although I think my favorite would have to be the "Golden Mermaid" one. Mostly because I've wanted to be a mermaid all my life, haha! But who doesn't?

Good luck to everyone!!

These crayons look super and your post just makes me think I should get back to a daily sketchbook habit. What a generous give away too... Impossible to choose!
