All Aflame

I'm enjoying the colours at the beginning of this new season. We're getting very dramatic evening skies!

I've started to embrace the reds and coppery tones that this time of year brings, so much so that my palette is now filled with them. The watercolour sketch above shows a worried looking girl, deep in thought and maybe a little sad. She'd like a name please if you can think of a nice one for her? I've asked Facebookers to do the same so that once I have some ideas, I can find the perfect fit for her. :)

Meanwhile, I've started a new mixed media piece on canvas board using acrylics, ink and various collage papers. I'll let you see the finished painting when it's ready. I'll keep the same colours but it could possibly change from this, you'll have to wait and see! :)

A wonderful painting. She looks like a Siobhan to me. I love the autumn colours, and you have captured them beautifully.

Those colours want me to wrap up in my blanket near the fire with a lovely cup of hot chocolate. Well captured Jessica! ManonX

The colours you have chosen are wonderful and I always love the faces you create. The name Christie sprung to mind but that may because of the book I am reading at the moment where the central character is called just that and is sad and worried so far in the book.

I love autumn colours and your new colour selection is beautiful. That WIP canvas is just gorgeous!! Love the background.
A name for your Autum girl? 'Amber' because she reminds me of one of my favourite semi precious stones with all those golden earthy tones.
Prunella! ;) That just popped into my head when I saw her.

Oh I LOVE the one you are working on now! Love the other too, but LOVE that little red one! (Will that be up in your shop?)

I'm gravitating towards the reds as well. Don't you love this time of year?

Oh, how I LoVe that dramatic sky ~ beautiful!

And I love how you're embracing the palette of the season. I'm resisting. But that may all change tomorrow afternoon at 4:44pm (ET) when autumn arrives. We shall see. :)

And your paintings are so lovely. As for a name … I'll have another cup of coffee and see if that sparks something!

Hi Jess,
Just stopping to give you some autumn blessings and to see what you have been up too!
The evening sky is wonderful at this time of year, like liquid gold melting through the clouds. Your new painting is beautiful too and the colours sing. The way you blend colour is always lovely.
Have a good weekend.
Best wishes,
Jo. xx
