A Turbulent Wave is Tamed

I started this painting the other day but I wasn't sure of keeping the composition or the colours. This looks like the sea doesn't it? A bit of a turbulent wave there! I didn't want it to look like the sea, so since I took this photo I've put a wash of yellow paint over the bottom half the painting to make it look green with the idea of making it into a garden.
When you're working on a larger painting it takes so much longer because of the area you need to cover with paint. I really couldn't decide what to do with this one so I thought I would paint a tiny one with the same idea in mind to try out ideas.

In the end it took just as long as the big painting would have done! I have actually finished the little one
and here it is

Ready to list in my Etsy shop. :)

It's just 6 x 6 inches (15 x 15cm) on a box style canvas and ready to hang on your wall. Please click here for more details.

I'm going back to work on the bigger painting now. I've a feeling it will look quite different to this small one but I'm quite excited because I now have a clearer idea of what I'm going to do. There will be houses and there will be flowers and trees
but the rest of it?
I shall come back and show you quite soon. :)

Jess this is great! I love the big blue ocean. And that tiny house is so lovely, I can actually see myself living in that house!!
What would it be like inside?

Thanks Nadia, it would be very old inside with a bundle of knitting on a comfy sofa by a log fire. (By the way, I can't access your blog, the page doesn't come up when I click on your name.)
