A Knitting Story

I don't normally like having pictures of me here on my blog but in this case I need to show you and it's easier than trying to describe it, so here goes. Do you remember my lovely cardigan that I took several months to knit?

Well it had a bit of an accident in the wash.

So.

I'm knitting a colourful cushion cover to cheer myself up.

It's quite fun to do because I'm making it up as I go along and the yarn is cheapo acrylic, not pure beautiful merino. Like my lovely avocado and buttercup cardigan. (Anyone need a tiny 'felted' avocado and buttercup winter warmer for their small dog, or rabbit, or baby?)

A Happy(ish) ending...

Since the cardigan I've also just finished this scarf made with pure wool. I'd better be careful with it hadn't I?! ;)

What a shame Jess. Perhaps you could make a cushion cover using part of your felted cardigan?

Oh dear, what a shame :(
I agree with the above comment you could make a felted cushion cover from your felted cardi, or a tea cosy, purse/bag, slippers... oooh I think there are are lots of happy possibilities :)
Your scarf is beautiful! the colours are glorious and really suit you.

Oh poor you, such a shame as it's truly beautiful! I think you could definitely use this felted cardy to make another lovely something...its sad to cut up but I am sure you'll be able to think of something precious to make...some fingerless gloves would be lovely xox Penelope

oh Jess, you are beautiful and although the cardigan shrunk to unwearable sizing, maybe some furry friend will enjoy it very much ;-)

Oh no, how is it when you want sonething to felt - it won't but when you don't - it darn well does!
I'd definiteley make something from it - perhaps a rabbit as well as a cushion back.
You look lovely in your fab scarf. Yes, be careful with it!

oh jess, but it's so *cute* now!! of course i'd be very sad if it were a sweater i'd spent hours knitting, but for me here, sitting on the other side of the ocean, i think this new version is just one of the sweetest darn things i've ever seen. : )

Oh poor you! The cardigan was lovely (and still is. You could chop it up and make a ipad/kindle holder!).
Your scarf is lovely. I love the shades.xxx
Oh, this was beautiful! I did the same thing once and had the idea to make a bag out of the shrinked version. It lookes so nice now as well, far too short for wearing it, but what if you create a bag? You could have it every day around ;-)

Love your fotos!

Hi Jess so lovely to 'see' you again, it's been a while. My blogging is a bit sporadic of late. LOVE your header it's so beautiful and I've just been going through your previous posts. It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

What a shame about your cardy but I have to admit it looks sooooo cute!!!! :0)

What a shame that was a lovely looking cardigan and I loved the colour. (a colour that I'm always attracted to but doesn't suit me much, sadly)
I agree with the other comments and think you should recycle it into another item for yourself. :)x

oh no! That's terrible! I hate it when that happens. It's the number one reason why I never choose wool when I want to knit something. Your colourful cushion is looking great though. Should be able to cheer you up ☺
