Out with the mess, starting afresh.

I've cleared up by art table. I'd forgotten how much this helps me start a new project with renewed enthusiasm!
I do make a mess when I paint, it gets all over my hands and it has even been known to travel to my feet more times than I'd like to tell you. When I was at college I'd take a pack of baby wipes with me in my art supplies so that I could clean my art materials off myself before venturing outside. My face would invariable have smudges and streaks of a bright vivid colour, or black.

So what project do I have in mind?
Christmas cards!

I was originally going to make them to sell but I've left it too late this year. I was also going to sell my 'moo' ones that I had printed  but again I've missed the boat with that too. Never mind, I'm going to give them to friends and family. :)

They were a lot of fun to make, why did I leave it so long!

Now I have a nice clean table, I've got my little sketchbook out. It's so much nicer to work in a neat and tidy area isn't it?

Or do you love the chaos of mess? :)

I love your xmas cards....fab colors....I make a real mess in my studio but just recently cleaned it alllllll up only to start a new mess but I am trying to keep tabs on it and try and clean up as I go. We shall see how long that lasts. Maybe I better save that as one of my New Years Resolutions:)

What cleaness! Im not keen on the saying that only true creativity can come from chaos... It never works for me and Ive suffered from creativity my whole life! A messy worktable depresses the life out of me and puts me off starting anything! I like clean slates and wish you wondrous creations to blossom from yours Jess! Merry Christmas and as ever a joy to follow your posts! Ren x

A change is as good as a rest so a tidy up does no harm. The trouble with mess is that it creeps up, and is only apparent once it is overwhelming (or there are unexpected visitors).

I'm like you. After a while I can not work or focus if my studio is too messy. My "small" job for the holidays ....
Your studio looks great!

every thing looks wonderful. home made cards are such a treasure.

love the blues of your sketch book piece.
gosh, i don't have an art desk. i work on my lap on the couch and i get supplies all around me. I like to finish a piece so i can put it all away. inevitable i use different supplies for each piece and often i can not remember what i used, so i must finish one before i put it all away.
