Woolly Things and Painted Pots

As you might have seen from my last post, I recently visited the isle of Skye. The shop above was north of the island, standing alone in quite a remote place. I was drawn by the woolly loveliness inside but to my surprise the lady in the shop was from where we live, over 600 miles south! She'd moved up there a few years ago.
I was tempted by their wonderful array of naturally dyed wool and handmade buttons and cards.

Not sure what I'm going to do with these yet but I'm getting a whole lotta pleasure just getting them out of the bag and day-dreaming about their future. ;)

A little highland cow picture made from the local wool. I love that gorgeous russet colour! It had been dyed using the natural colours from madder and onion skins. I had to buy some for myself. :)

Aren't these ceramic buttons beautiful? I'm going to have to knit something blue for them now aren't I?
Talking of which, I've nearly finished the purple cardigan and I'm now just waiting to find the perfect purple buttons for it. (No, believe it or not I do not have any the right size and colour in my stash!)
While I wait to find those elusive buttons, I've started an avocado and buttercup cardigan and because the purple one is such a good fit, I'm using the same pattern for it.

When I'm not knitting, I am of course painting. The pots below were in a sale and being the usual terracotta colour, just cried out to be made more colourful by me.

I heard that cry as you can see. :)
All I need now are some pretty flowers to grow in them.

I've always loved little shops like that! Everything seems so friendly and cozy. Nice to see you've been busy around the house splashing colors here and there. :)

Your inspiration for knitting never leaves you! I like the avocado colour very much and believe you'll knit a beautiful, warm cardigan for chilly evenings!:)
Dear Jessie, I've been very busy lately, but now that I am back home, without new projects "knocking on the door", I'll have more time to read all the posts I've missed. And I'll send the promised papercutting very soon...:)

That shop is adorable! I can see you're like me -- lots of projects going at once! It keeps life interesting, doesn't it?

Thankyou, yes I like to go from one project to the next. I do like to finish one before I start another, I get anxious if I don't! :)
