Illustration Friday: Secret

I don't like secrets.
Even when told a nice secret I get too over excited and find it almost painful keeping it to myself as I can't stand the suspense!
If I'm asked by someone to keep any sort of secret, I take that very seriously and won't tell a soul. I'll ask permission to reveal it to others and only then will tell those closest to me and trust that they know they are the chosen few.
The picture that I've painted (above) for Illustration Friday is a page form my art journal.
 (close-up detail)

It has its own secrets.
The first layer was writing about how I felt, private thoughts that needed to pour out. I layered gesso and inks over the top to disguise what I'd written and in some way to heal too.

It seemed to work. :)

Imaginative and brilliant way to rid oneself of those oppressive secrets! The colors are emphatically helpful!

What a great idea and you've managed to create something beautiful from it. :-)
Well for whatever reasons the pictures are not opening up.. I'll have to come back (how is that for a secret picture!!) I wanted to say hello anyway :)

Gros bisous.

Oh, that is beautiful! I can almost feel the mystery behind the layers of paints. :)

Good to know you can keep a secret when asked. Can I tell you mine? :))

I enjoyed layering the gesso so I think this is something I'll do again, secrets underneath or not! ;)

I am the same way with secrets.... as life goes on i even figure that people get to tell their own stories, so i try not to repeat other peoples tales unless it supports a truth or lesson.

i love how you hid your secrets in this wonderful painting Jess.
Beautiful colors, and I love how it was a type of healing process for secrets...brilliant!
This ones does hold some mystery, I love it! Great faces.

The colors appeal to me too, I love blues and green. Healing.
