Pretty

Cambridge City Centre.

It is!
Well, it's behind the buildings but only a stone's throw from the main colleges. Compared to Oxford, Cambridge is very small with hardly any traffic in the Town centre, just a LOT of bikes that are everywhere you walk, so you have to watch your step!
The buskers that stand outside Kings College are really good, except for the one who chose to sing and play on an extremely hot day from inside a bin! Yes, all I could see were his two arms coming out from the sides of the bin where you put the rubbish in, playing his guitar. Sorry no picture, I would have but I was in shock at his predicament.

One of my favourite galleries there is the Primavera. The reason for this is the paintings by Jane Ray, an illustrator of the most beautiful paintings. They're supposedly for children but I have a couple of those 'children's books' I bought for myself. :) You can read more about her here.

This time I did take pictures.

On Saturday I was lucky enough  to see the paintings of another of my favourite artists. The Totnes Art Trail was on and I missed it last year. This year I was determined to go and so happy that I could.

Here is the pretty home of Yvonne Coomber.

I felt very much at home here and it was hard for me to leave!

Gorgeously colourful paintings, filled with joy and love.

Just how I like it. ;)

Lovely, intriguing recent posts, Jessie! I'm so sorry I can't spend the time they deserve, I just jump here to have a look for a minute or too, because I can't find time for myself these days... I'm busy, busy!!!... But my soul needs a dose of beauty and colours, and nice emotions... and you give them to me, thanks a lot!!!x
P.S. I haven't forgotten about the papercutting! Just be a little bit patient, please! After a week I must be "free"...

Have only paid a fleeting visit to Cambridge but it is a lovely place.
No wonder you found it hard to tear yourself away from Yvonne Coomber's work, it is indeed full of joy.

Sorry to US readers! I didn't realise the word bin might not be familiar to you! Trash can is the right word isn't it? :)

Thankyou for your lovely comments. I'm using a computer away from home at the moment so apologies to you if I can't reply properly on your blogs. :) Sometimes it works but most often the whole thing crashes! I hope to be back to normal again soon. :) xx

Oh you must go Karen! That gallery always has her paintings in there. They're a lot smaller than I imagined, a lot of tiny detail. :)
