Illustration Friday: Yield

Thankyou for your comments, it really is lovely to see flowers again isn't it? I didn't realise how much I missed their colour until they started sprouting forth again!
With colourful blooms still on my mind, here's my picture for this week's Illustration Friday. 'Yield'.

**UPDATE**
This painting is now available as a print! CLICK HERE to see the details. :)

Why did I draw a teapot?

I'll explain why that was on my mind. The other day I bought a packet of loose tea by accident, thinking it was teabags. I have a few teapots on the shelf in my kitchen (There's something about them I love, maybe it's their shape, so round?) but they very rarely get to be used. I don't like to waste things so I've been making proper tea in a proper teapot just like I used to in the olden days. Being the only tea drinker in the house it does feel like a great big faff and life is too short and....
I think I'll go back to tea bags next time!

I love to see all the new growth, everything coming back to life again. The woods are still quite brown but here and there, the little buds are sitting quietly, waiting for their time! It won't be long now. :)

I love the piece with the teapot. I make pots of tea and then put in fridge and have ice tea all the time.
What a gorgeous woods to go walking...ahhh those shadows the trees throw look great don´t they.
Have a good start to your week!

So pretty! Great job in the fabric of the dress, and adorable tea pot and flowers. Nice job on the subtle wash of foliage in the background, too!

Une superbe illustration qui pourrait s'apparenter à Demoiselle Printemps qui semble vouloir faire son apparition...

Hi Jess! Love this piece! I am just starting to really try watercolors. It's hard to exercise the restraint not to overdo them! I am planning on taking a live class this summer. My flowers are just starting to pop up too and we had two whole sunny days so I got caught up on the yard work a bit. I love getting into the garden!
This is a great interpretation of IF. VERY nicely done. And I love all of the color and design in her dress. :)
teapot of stars... so lovely!

And the flowers will dream sweet dreams!...
Your imagination (and the tea!) bore such a tender painting! I like the dusk colours.:)
After visiting you, the Spring will come to us! She's sending already sunny signs...
