Illustration Friday: Shades

Spring sunshine on Mother's Day! I hope you all had a lovely day.

This week's word for Illustration Friday is 'shades'. What better than the shade of a beautiful old tree,
with sunlight peeping around the corner!

The word 'shades' can be interpreted in lots of different ways but the very first one that sprang into my mind was of course shades of colour!

So here we have my picture in shades of green!

This time of year the green is emerging little by little.
I love early spring don't you? It means we have the whole of the spring and summer ahead of us. What a lovely thought. :)

I was so busy the last two days with writing a project with a deadline today, that I missed the first BIG steps of spring in my town. I just felt the air and the sun rays, listened to the burst of voices, laughs, birds' singing and noises outside. Tomorrow I'll go out to "explore" the first signs of spring and I hope to catch some beautiful moments, as you did! Thanks for these cheerful photos, Jess! I like the shades, tne flowers, everything...
Oh, and that painting is among my favourires!:)

Yes, I am so glad this is just the start of spring. When I was younger I used to wonder why older folk would say spring was their favourite time as I loved summer. Now I know it is just as you have said. Bliss.

What beautiful photographs to celebrate with too.

Lovely photos but I like your illustration best! Really cool almost stained glass look to the tree leaves, and really great job on those great wings. Great pink accents, too!

Thankyou for your kind comments. :) I think I might have been influenced once again by my middle daughter's hair! It's a great style to draw and I loved using all those different greens in the picture, I could have gone on and on adding new shades!xx

Spring is my favorite time of year. Both your pictures and your illustration were such wonderful reminders of why spring is so special. The world is just so full of color right now that it makes me happy!

Love that green tank top you painted on her. Too bad I can't just go out and buy one!
Your blog is so very, very lovely! I sneaked over here from your post on 'A Fanciful Twist' BTW, in June, Vanessa Valencia has a 'Mad Tea Party' which she hosts on her blog for anyone who wants to join her on their own blog with their own frivolities and silliness of 'Wonderland'...such wondrous fun with lots of teapots and tea cups and many have giveaways too! I hope to participate again this year.
Oh! and your artwork is enchanting and vibrant.
Nice to meet you!

Oh, I love her green fairy wings! I'm also enjoying your photographs here--:) :) :) all that green (and with lovely little pops of yellow) is sooo refreshing and wonderful. I like the pink you chose to contrast with the green in your painting--very nicely balanced!
Happy Spring!
