Illustration Friday: Intention

I had the idea for this illustration after I came across an old photo of my children playing on the beach. My daughter (in the white top) was making a fish design out of shells. She's always loved fish and has carried on this interest to this day, now working in an aquarium in Cornwall!

That is a lovely story behind the picture, Jess. Isn't it strange how some people know what path they are to follow early on.

I love the mustard-y color and the neat patterns on the clothes. Nice job!
What a lovely piece! and I love hearing where people get their inspiration from. I found my way here through Micki's post, and will be back.
Thanks for sharing.

I love all the patterns and the hushed monochromatic nature of this piece. Are the plants dreaming in the background? They seem to be the manifestation of spirit for the the people kneeling in the painting.

What a great story behind your lovely illustration and how wonderful that a childhood interest should become a future career. I imagine your daughter really enjoys going to work unlike so many people.

Unusual colours for a "sea" theme! And so lovely! Maybe this is not only an intention to make a fish, but also to re-create the memory of a Special day?...:)
Your daughter must be happy to have found her place in life!!
The photo is wonderful!
