Illustration Friday: Popularity

The other evening I stood

and watched the beautiful sea.

and images of mermaids and fish started brewing in my mind....

'Popularity' for Illustration friday.

It's been a while since I've used pencil crayons and I had a lot of fun blending the colours. :o)
The ones I use are WH Smith's own brand, soft and bright. Just how I like it!

Beautifully done Jess, very effective and vibrant without taking over. I too stand and watch the sea sometimes. The momentum is soothing and stirring at the same time for me.

Ah, one of my dreams is to live by the sea. The trouble is it is the same for many others and the coast can become busy in fine weather. It looks as if you had the place to yourself. No wonder your mind had space to wander.

I like these pencils you used. A different look, sort of a "clarity", but still soft. Does that make sense?
This drawing is really beautiful. I agree with Robin about the clarity. I think it's one of the best drawings I have seen for popularity....

This is great! I really like how instead of the common scaled tail, you continued the scales into an off shoulder outfit. She has a lovely thoughtful expression and great hair, and those fish are so cute!
