Illustration Friday: Fluid

This is my painting for this week's Illustration Friday word.
I first drew it with a black fineliner pen, added watercolour and finished the shading with coloured pencils.
I don't know why I'm drawing fish recently, it could be the shape. They're similar to leaves aren't they, and teardrops or raindrops? I tend to draw a lot of spirals too.
What shapes do you have a tendency to draw?

Don't forget I have a 10% discount in my Etsy shop this week! :)

Great colors! I like how the braid is reminiscent of a mermaid's tail. Lovely job on the ship in the waves up in the corner, too.

My common shapes are spirals and big goofy animal noses. :)

You seem to maintain a luminous quality to the faces in your work.
Sorry to see your post so late - I hope you had a good weekend.

I always always like pictures with curls and twirls, especially waves. There's some mother of pearl about its qualities too.

This is fun and right away made me think of a female version of Moby Dick. Do you know that book? Maybe your painting reminds me of an older book cover to that classic novel.
: )

It's lovely to hear what shapes and symbols you love to draw!

I've heard of Moby Dick but I'm not familiar with the book! :)
