I used a limited colour range of pencils for this, purples, golds and pinks. The shapes drew themselves if you know what I mean.
What do you think they mean?
The hare has a special meaning for many cultures and I find them a beautiful and quite poetic creature. For me, I see these as hares and see the woman wearing a fur dress whilst holding a small hare. It is an embrace of the special ancient magic and the fire and celestial markings evoke strong passion.
I am not sure if it is what you had in mind so I hope I have not offended you.
Bella, I think that's a wonderful description, thankyou!
Thanks Pumpkin. :o)

What Bella says makes sense to me. I thought it looked like the large hare had just arrived. The woman looks a little like Annie Lennox and I think she and the hare she's holding have the same expression.
Thanks Lizzie, I love to hear what it says to other people, most often, I don't plan pictures like this at all, letting them 'paint themselves' so to speak. :)
I'm thinking something to do with Spring and fertility, but I could be wrong :). A lovely image and the limited palette brings your beautiful characters to life!
The big hare, who is magical spring creature,is sending good vibrations to the girl and little hare. They all look very gentle and peaceful. Lovely! <3
Oh I've just been reading in one of delores cannon books about higher beings coming to help us by shape shifting into animals and coming through our dreams to help us. Your art so remind's me of this. :) Lovely to hear from you, sorry I've been busy reading! Get my head stuck in books! Loads of love to you! Julie
I like the big stripy rabbit materialising in the flames. It seems to me that you are surrounding yourself in magic! ;-) Love the gold and purple colours. They are the colours of the magician. Jo. xx
I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately. Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink. I love the pearlescent inks, they're so beautiful when they catch the light. The paintings above and below are painted in acrylic. I've been obsessed with watercolour for a few weeks but I felt I'd like to get some acrylics out again. I've always been like this, going through phases of being obsessed with a particular medium thinking yes this is it! This is my final medium and then finding myself being drawn to changing once again to a different way of wor...
