Back to the Drawing Board

I've just finished a painting and it wasn't until I'd scanned it that I realised I'd not painted the trunk in front of the tree as I'd intended! The trouble with watercolour is that once it's there, it's there.
Now my dilemma is do I let it go as it is, or do I start again?
Drat!
While I get out another piece of paper and start a new painting, let me show you the lovely place I was yesterday.


My brother lives close to the white horse area so a visit to Uffington with him led to a beautiful (but windy!) walk over the stunning hilltops.


Right then..
back to the drawing board for me!

Once I started I didn't feel like painting the same one again. I chose a lion instead and the rest followed!

I used to live in Wantage which is also close to the White Horse, your pics brought back lots of childhood memories. I think the painting looks great, I say leave it as is. :0)

I think the sweet elephant looks very fine. ;-)

Those views of rolling hills are spectacular. Wonderful large photos too!
It looks like a great place to go for windy walks. :-)

Oh I feel for you. To us, it looks fine... but when you had a plan... Just remember though that this one is just as good as the next one will be - but for different reasons!

The ancient rolling hills are breath-taking!! Such spirit there must be there. I like the elephant painting as is, but you must do what you must do!!!

I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately.  Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink.
