Illustration Friday: Stir


Something was about to stir..

It's been a really long time since I've done a picture in purely black and white. It made me think more about the surface textures which was fun but I've no doubt I'll be reaching for the colour again before too long!

I think you work very well in black & white, and the largest cat's expression amused me. I like the various patterns too and may be I wouldn't have noticed them as much if it was a vibrantly coloured piece.

I was looking at your background and thinking to myself that looks like felt pen but I wasn't sure because charcoal sometimes looks like that except I've never seen charcoal that intense. That's why I thought I would as before I assumed it was pen and ink. I love looking at her hair.

Wow this is awesome. I have friends that scan it to computer and add digital color. That way they can change the piece up all different ways and still keep their black and white!! Good job!!

THis is fabulous!! Do you write books with all your characters?
This one with her cat NEEDS a book let me tell you. I could tell a whole story just from this one drawing...look at the expression on the cat´s face and the girls eyes...wonderful!!
