Screaming Flowers

Pages from my sketchbook with a little background tidying done in Photoshop.

Looking at the top one with fresh eyes today, it reminds me of the Scream painting by Munch.
That wasn't my intention! There's quite a contrast in mood between my two paintings though isn't there?!

The Scream by Edvard Munch

I'm starting some canvases today. Its been a really long time since I've worked with acrylic on canvas so there will inevitably be a few mistakes until I get back into it again.
Here I go!

Yes, I can see the similarity with Munch, but definiteley coming from a different place. As you know I have a print of one of your canvases so I'm dead glad you're starting that strand of your talents again.♥

I see what you mean, similarity in colors and the flowing lines.
To me your lady looks as if surrendering to something amazing.

I've always had a strong connection to 'The Scream'. Your work is a lot cheerier though and not as dark.

Yes, there is a different feeling in both your pieces. It is fun to see your scream next to Munch's scream.
I look forward to seeing you work in acrylics.

I can see the similarity, but your lady doesn't look no where near as distressed as Munch's poor figure.
I love your new header! I'm feeling a little like that today. ;)
Looking forward to seeing the canvases. I have an urge to work big too at the moment.
Have a great weekend x
