Spring Signs

I made this mosaic sign from old broken tiles and bits of mirror.
We had a lovely sunny weekend of walks on the beach. The beach huts are back! A sure sign of the season beginning! Brixham's been going through major changes recently. It's only a couple of weeks since I was last there and this structure took me by surprise! There's talk that it's going to be a fish restaurant (much to Carenza's disgust.) She used to love fish when she was really little and would ask for it every day. I think she must be 'all fished out' because she won't go near it these days!

Indulge me for a moment while I show you this. I took this because I thought it was a really sweet picture of her favourite flannel that she was drying in the sun. The washing line was in the shade so she had to be inventive when quick-drying was needed.

I expect you can tell that I've found a way of uploading pictures - hooray! There'll be no stopping me now!

I love your mosaic sign. It's beautiful! And the beach huts do look like summer is around the corner. :)

Really like the painting "The Light"... and fun to see it in the context where it lives now... as well as cats and kids...

Thanks Cathy, it's much more bright and colourful in real life, I do love mosaics, very painful to make for my hands though! ;o)

Thanks Owen, 'cats and kids'! Makes it sound like a menagerie! ;o)

Now I really want to make a mosaic. Have you seen the book "Mosaic Patterns by Tessa Hunkin." It is excellent.

Hi Rosie, I do love mosaics and can't get enough of them! I haven't seen that book, I'll go and look it up!
