Inspiration from Anywhere

Inspiration for a drawing can come from anything that I see. The one above was triggered by seeing someone's hair on the X Factor!I wanted to draw some hats which gave me an excuse to play with colour. I can find lots of excuses for that!
I'm still working on the magazine illustration that I mentioned before here.
It's quite a simple drawing but the watercolour seems to be taking ages to dry today and I don't like using the hairdrier because I get in such a mess with the washes running. I've also got an idea for Illustration Friday which will involve splashy watercolour, so I'm not sure how long this is all going to take but I'll post as soon as it's done!

Hello Jess, I think you are right, you never want for inspiration! That is a great thing in my opinion. It would be sad to want to create, yet have nothing to draw upon - I haven't been there yet and hope I don't have to go there, either. My guess is you have more inspiration than time to create - right? A problem I know all too well!

I love the hair and the hats! Way too cute. I have problems, myself, with watercolors. I am wondering if a heat lamp would help?

Have a Beautiful Day!

Thanks Kim! The sun's suddenly decided to show itself so I've got them sitting by the window basking.

Hey Jessie, thanks for stopping by! Loving your new work. Sometimes I get really cool and unexpected results with 'wet on wet' watercolours, so my advice would be don't wait for it to dry ;-)
