Time was, when I knew where they were, what they were doing. It wasn't all plain sailing being tied to their needs but...




Life changes, hairstyles change (!) and
JUST LOOK WHAT MY BABY HAS DONE TO HIS HAIR
People reassure me it'll grow back.
I know.
It could be worse.
Please don't let it get worse!

they do grow up fast dont they, i think jessie it shows what a grand job u have done, you have given him the confidence to show his individualism & creativeness. ps. let u into a secret , ... i used to have one of those!! eek and dreadlocks too, when i was an art student of course!!! x x

Good for him! :) I did exactly the same thing when I was 16, better to have him doing it now then when he is 30+ (nothing more embarrassing than a grown up chap trying to have the rebellion he never had when he was a lad). What I find funny is how mohicans and all that are making a comeback, mine was done back in 1983!

Hi Gretel, It's almost old fashioned in a way isn't it hehe!It is better for him to be doing it now it's true, but my husband is getting ideas now and he's way past 30! I've told him he's not going to though because his own hair style is radical enough already. :D

Love your illustration! Pfft boys will be boys...shame though becuase he had nice hair. My brother's hair was smiliar and then he went to get a silly haircut. It will grow back though :)

roflol, i remember when M came home with orange hair and his ear pierced twice...now he's maggie's daddy, no piercings and going bald...let him have his fun.....love it.

Ha ha! Poor you.

I am with him on this though: I had long Alice-in-Wonderland hair right through to my early 20s, but had a secret desire to do something spiky and bright and mad. I never had the nerve.

Now he's got it out of his system, he'll probably do something safer in a bit, you'll see!

Oh my gosh. If you had told me that this was a picture of my son, I would believe you. I'll have to find you a pic. I even have a pic of him with a mohawk. Last week he shaved it off so now he just has a buzz cut. He had the mohawk for a couple of years but they do get tired of spiking it so it becomes a little less shocking. lol

My older son has dreads and I love them. I've never had a kid with "just normal hair!" as my mom would like. (her words hehe)

He's just left this afternoon to go to a festival so I won't see it for the next few days. I'm to be shocked by it all over again after the weekend when he gets home! :~O

Definitely best done now rather than later and yes I also think it shows freedom and creativity!

I love it! it is better to be individual in this world.. I'm so glad that a large number of young people are starting to express themselves again... the adidas thing went on for far too long in my opinion!

I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately.  Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink. I love the pearlescent inks, they're so beautiful when they catch the light. The paintings above and below are painted in acrylic. I've been obsessed with watercolour for a few weeks but I felt I'd like to get some acrylics out again.
