I really wanted to do last week's Illustration Friday but I ran out of days! This friday I painted this as soon as I saw the new word, it's not friday today, it's saturday but I think this is the quickest I've ever submitted!
beautiful Jessie. I had the same problem. I worked out an idea for last weeks but it would have taken too long to do...uuurgh. So parade seems very inviting...
I really like this parade of lady-bird bugs. The colours, patterns and shape all work very nicely together. (Though you might like to check as I think they should have 6 legs each!)

Better late than never and the cute ladybugs look they are rushing to enjoy something important.
They look very determined... but just one question, which I guess is related to the question "Why did the chicken cross the road?, but this one is : Why did the ladybugs go over the hill, when they might have gone around it ?

very cute and lovely colors...feels like summer..Happy mothers day...Robin
Well Jessie, I'm guessing what's hidden in the green... :)And as a comment on your story about searching the right colours...I received on the academy one day of a selfish teacher that I couldn't use colors. If you can do something with some critic like that? Imagine! So from that day on I searched a search till today to combine nice colors...and I'm hoping I learned a lot untill now, not from that women, but by drawing more and more and experience the effect of colors. We can learn from each other and that's one of the reasons we comment on each others work I think. So you are on the right way I think...and like for this one...there can not be choosed a better color ;) X Kathy

I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately. Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink. I love the pearlescent inks, they're so beautiful when they catch the light. The paintings above and below are painted in acrylic. I've been obsessed with watercolour for a few weeks but I felt I'd like to get some acrylics out again. I've always been like this, going through phases of being obsessed with a particular medium thinking yes this is it! This is my final medium and then finding myself being drawn to changing once again to a different way of wor...
I like to make pictures that aren't a conventional landscape, so that the ground and the sky are interchangeable, dreamlike, floating. These paintings are done using my Tombow dual brush pens, the watercolour effect is made by adding water to the pen marks with an ordinary brush. This next one below is painted in watercolours and the black is done in waterproof drawing pens. Next is a picture made with my coloured pencils that I've had for ever. They might be ancient but they still do the job! Oh. And my black pentel brush pen and a gold gel pen. I love a bit of gold. And finally here's a cute little cucumber that Middle Daughter grew in her garden. It looks like a lemon doesn't it? It's about the same size as a satsuma and I think they're called lemon cucumbers but let me assure you they taste like a very tasty cucumber. Have a great week!xx
