I knew I wanted some kind of creature on the stage and as I've been drawing penguins lately, penguins it had to be! Dragonflies can't act quite as well, take it from me.
Oh, these guys are wonderful! When I read your tweet about painting them, I knew I would be in for a treat. You can really capture some great expression on their faces and I am expecting the Penguin Dance to be the next craze! What do you think?
Seriously, this is truly great fun and very nice work! I keep wondering what is next from Jess...
Yes penguins are great actors...and when they accept their Oscars they allways wear their tuxedos. :O) Great work Jessie. I love penguins and your ROCK!
Ha haaa! These penguins are fabulous!! I'm smiling.. they're like dancing and their expression is fantastic! Well done, this illo is funny and the cast is great! ^_^
I've been thinking about why I'm drawing cottages lately. Maybe it's because there aren't many people around where we live and on our daily walks we rarely come across anyone else which I suppose is a good thing as we're still in Lockdown and have to practice Social Distancing which has now become a very well used phrase in our language! Maybe it's this lack of seeing people around that my mind is turning towards houses and flowers? The ones above are done in ink. I love the pearlescent inks, they're so beautiful when they catch the light. The paintings above and below are painted in acrylic. I thought this was quite an appropriate word for some of us this week with all this snow! It was very exciting at first to have everyone home on a school day but today they're back and I must say it's nice to have the space again to get on with my own things! I've given my Etsy shop a new lease of life and will be adding these 2 ACEO's later on this morning. I do like drawing birds!
Brixham Harbour It's been a while since my last post hasn't it? It's been a very busy Easter holiday for me, lots of things to sort out and jobs to do. Today's my first day at home but there's so much catching up to do after being away I don't know where to start! So I decided to start right here and to make this blogpost :) I did manage to have some relaxing time too and one of the places we went to was Avebury Manor. I've been to Avebury stone circles more times than I can count but have never visited the 500 year old Manor House. Each room has been restored to a different time period to represent the different generations of people who lived there over the years. I love the handpainted wallpaper in one of the rooms, so detailed. It was difficult to choose which part to photograph there was so much amazing pattern. It's based on an early English chinoiserie wallpaper from around 1700. The artist Mark Sands working on t
