Two Magical Things This Morning

Magical Thing 1.
You'll never guess...the Fairy God Mother's spell from yesterday's post worked! After a freezing evening and night I leapt quickly out of bed to get dressed before the shock of the cold air got to me, ran downstairs and to my surprise noticed the radiators were working - hurray!

I've no idea why or how but the JOY of having heating is unbelievable. It's amazing how much we take for granted isn't it? (I keep checking them to see if they're tricking me and go cold again!)

Magical Thing 2.
On this happy note, I read on Alicia's blog this morning that she's starting a 'Doodle a Day'. This couldn't have come at a better time for me. From monday to friday, the idea is to doodle, scan and post every day, a daily sketch to warm up. After each school break I find it so difficult to get back into the swing of drawing and being creative. Our school went back yesterday so the timing is perfect! (See above for my first one.)

Hi Jessie, I think is great that you decided to do it too!
Wonderful sketches, both of them :o)

Hurrah! Heat is a lovely thing when it is cold outside. I tell you those fairy godmothers are amazing creatures! You need to get them to conjure spells more often Jess...or teach me how to do it! :)

I am not sure I would call your drawing a doodle. I love it, really. I know just what you mean about getting stuck back in after a break. I have the same problem. Blogging helps me and I keep remembering what Andrea says..."make a mark every day"...so I make a mark (sometimes you can't even call it a doodle).

Thanks Jess...I am loving this new blog!

Hi Jess, that is so good you have your heating back on, we spent the whole of last Christmas huddled round the fire, freezing, not so very good. Love the idea of doing a sketch per day! not so sure that i could keep it up, but am going to try *ruthie*

Hi Kim! Thanks, it's more of a sketch than a doodle but like you say, to make a mark every day makes a surprising difference!
Hi Ruthie, I'm so pleased to hear you're going to give it a try!

Oh goodness, I'm glad you have heat again!! Our boiler stopped working right when the cold weather first hit at the end of last year. We ended up a whole week with no heating or hot water! I say thank you to it now every time I switch it on!! LOL
