Illustration Friday: 'Pale'

If you are familiar with how I paint, then you'll realise 'Pale' is a new concept for me! I used very diluted watercolour without too much shadow, well just a little bit. I've got to tell you it was hard for me to stop and leave it wishy washy but I did and here it is.

I'm sat here smiling, I really like this, but I can imagine how hard it must have been for you to pull back! I'd love to put some bowls of my pale washes in front of you and see your face! (chamomile tea/dishwater)

Jess, you are a true and very talented artist. Pale had to be a huge challenge for you, however you have accomplished that very well.

As always beautiful work!

You know, I really love your usual lively colors, but this more subtle treatment is really quite lovely indeed. It makes my eyes happy and rested to look at her. Ahhhhhh, thanks for the serenity!
