Cornwall Holiday Snaps

I'm back from my hols and the shop is now open again. My prints are currently on sale at The Grant Bradley Gallery in Bristol but they'll return to the shop after the exhibition ends at the beginning of September. :)

As you can see I've been in lovely Cornwall for a week and I was very sad when it was time to leave!
The picture above is a place on Bodmin Moor called Dozmary Pool. We stopped there for a picnic lunch but couldn't persuade the teenagers to get out of the car to enjoy the view. Even tales of ghosts and legends didn't change their minds! It's said that Excalibur was thrown into the water after King Arthur was killed and the pool is now haunted by the Lady of the Lake who guards the sword. There's also a tale of the pool being bottomless with a tunnel that connects it all the way to the sea. I wonder if anyone has tried to find it?

This gorgeous meadow caught my eye. I love to see wild flowers growing together don't you?

Porthmeor beach in St Ives is my most favourite beach in the evenings. The sun sets on the horizon and transforms everything into shades of pink. I sat on the beach and watched the waves coming in. The perfect way to spent the evening.

The day we had to leave was hot and sunny so joining the traffic queues needed to be avoided as long as possible and gave us a chance to spend some time at Marazion before we headed home. Here's the view over to St Michael's Mount. There's a path that can be walked across when the tide is low but as it was high tide, we found it completely covered up, so on this occasion, just enjoyed the view of St Michaels Mount from the beach which was lovely.

It was sad to leave and I miss it so much. I hope to go there again one day.x

I wish you from all my heart to go there again and to stay even more! The place looks fantastic! What a lovely sunset! The black spot, contrasting to the splendid meadow, is a butterfly, isn't it? I hope you feel refreshed now...:)

I love Cornwall too. It's one of the best places to be when the sun is shining.
The story of the lake and tunnel sounds interesting. Anything about King Arthur is always intriguing. x

Hi Jess,
I know I have commented on your facebook page about these lovely pictures, but sometimes I do still blog and catch up with people here.
Cornwall is one of the most magical places and I do miss it. Seeing your photos and St Michael's Mount makes me think of happy childhood holidays there. It looks like you had the best weather too!
By the way, congratulations again about having your work in the gallery. Such great news!
Have a lovely week,
Jo. xx

Furthermore I'm completely blessed to see your stunning holiday photos. In so many ways your holiday reminds me of ours; including that gorgeous flower meadow.

Lovely photos, I especially loved the wildflower meadow. Beautiful. We stayed in Marazion back at the beginning of July, so it was great to see your picture of St Michael's Mount and remember being there. Wish we still were...
I used to take my children to Cornwall for holidays and hadn't realised how much I missed it until I saw your beach photos. Lovely. Our local beaches here in North Wales are of the large and wide skied variety which is a different sort of lovely but the rocks and coves are marvellous. Loved the wildflower meadow too.
