The Right Time

This started off as an old watercolour painting of mine that I'd given up on a while ago. For some reason I didn't want to throw it away. Today I added a few lines of dark sepia ink and gave it a new lease of life.



Don't you think some things just need to wait for the right time?

Great job, I do find that sometimes walking away from something lets you think with a clearer head and usually you can improve :)

Gorgeous work..and yes..when totally divine we are called back to a piece to create a new energy with it! I love the striations of her hair..they almost make me think of the bark of a tree..and how she is closely connected to nature or attuning to it's healing nature...she feels like she wants to be set free in some way!

Thanks Bella, It's so difficult to keep things that you don't like though isn't it? Comparing them to the new work is a good boost though, that is, if the new work is better! ;o)

I definitely do think there is a right time for everything. The trick is knowing when it is.
I love your painting and all of its details. I found myself looking at all of them in wonder. Your work is beautiful.

Dreamlike Painting

I like to make pictures that aren't a conventional landscape, so that the ground and the sky are interchangeable, dreamlike, floating. These paintings are done using my Tombow dual brush pens, the watercolour effect is made by adding water to the pen marks with an ordinary brush. This next one below is painted in watercolours and the black is done in waterproof drawing pens. Next is a picture made with my coloured pencils that I've had for ever. They might be ancient but they still do the job!  Oh. And my black pentel brush pen and a gold gel pen. I love a bit of gold. And finally here's a cute little cucumber that Middle Daughter grew in her garden. It looks like a lemon doesn't it? It's about the same size as a satsuma and I think they're called lemon cucumbers but let me assure you they taste like a very tasty cucumber. Have a great week!xx
